Surfers Paradise Voco hotel will host an indulgent high tea at its Social House restaurant, offering a mix of sweet and savoury treats including buttermilk scones, arancini balls, desserts and a flowing chocolate fountain. “Our Social House high tea isn’t your average high tea,” Voco general manager Brenden van Blerk says. “(It’s) an exceptional array of items as special as every mum is.” Each mum will also go in the draw to win a Mother’s Day hamper. Mammas are the glue that hold Italian families together so expect nothing but the best when sitting down for a meal on Mother’s Day at Fellini Ristorante. All mums will receive a complimentary glass of prosecco on May 12 while trying new options from the autumn menu, including the rollata di vitello ai funghi veal tenderloin and carre di agnello lamb rack. Ristorante Fellini co-owner Carlo Percuoco says celebrating mothers is a huge part of Italian culture. “Our Mother’s Day traditions involve plenty of food and making sure our mothers know how much we love them,” he says. “Taking mamma out for lunch or dinner for Festa della Mamma is an Italian custom.”
