SURF clubs — they boast some of the best views of the beach and the best parmigianas in town.

Best of the Gold Coast is on the hunt for the best surf club in the region and we want to hear from you.

Nominate your favourite surf club with its name and suburb in the comments below or on social media before nominations close at 10am on Monday, September 2 and it will be put to a vote the same day.

The vote will stay open until 10am, September 9, when the votes will be tallied and the top 10 revealed in Gold Coast Eye and online on September 14.

Kurrawa Surf Club is still feeling the benefits of its $15 million renovation completed in late 2017. Marketing co-ordinator Tamara Aldous says the club’s membership skyrocketed following the relaunch, now catering to more than 25,000 members.

CURRUMBIN BEACH VIKINGS SURF LIFE SAVING CLUB

The Currumbin Vikings Surf Life Saving Club has recently refurbished its clubhouse next to Elephant Rock at Currumbin Beach.
The Currumbin Vikings Surf Life Saving Club has recently refurbished its clubhouse next to Elephant Rock at Currumbin Beach.

Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club has been saving lives in the water for 100 years this year. The club opened in 1919 and will celebrate its centenary in November.

Last year’s winning surf club is a local institution, feeding diners and keeping swimmers safe for decades. Southport Surf Life Saving Club boasts 4000 active patrol members, upholding the claim of no lives lost between the flags since 1924.
