Bam Bam Bakehouse and Paddock Bakery owners open cafe at Chinderah

THE couple who brought you Bam Bam Bakehouse and Paddock Bakery are opening another venue in 2018. Drool! This is what it’s called and where it will be located.

THE couple behind Bam Bam Bakehouse and Paddock Bakery are taking their foodie empire across the border.

Ursula and Ben Watts are opening a new venue at Chinderah in Northern NSW called Cubby Bakehouse, slated to open its doors in “a few months”.

The pair, who also opened Neptune Kiosk in Tallebudgera, said the venue would focus on quality baguettes.

“A little while ago we fell in love with Chinderah, just south of the boarder,” Ms Watts said. “The sleepy river front town in northern New South Wales has been roused by a small business boom with lots of creative businesses popping up. It’s old school.

“Locals know each other’s names, its not over developed and most importantly, it feels right to us.”

The couple’s now-iconic foodie brand has become a hit with Hollywood A-lister’s (Margot Robbie), food critics (Matt Preston) and even multi-billionaires (Elon Musk).

The family-run Bam Bam Bakehouse at Mermaid Beach serves up delicious pastries.

Ms Watts said she felt “so privileged” to take the iconic Bam Bam brand south of the border. “As always, each venue focuses on something,” she said.

“Bam Bam Bakehouse is the croissant, Cubby Bakehouse is the baguette and we will build the menu and experience up from this being the foundation.

“Cubby Bakehouse will be a new brand and a new experience from our previous three stores.”
