Man injured in surfing mishap at Kingscliff
A MAN has suffered a horrific suspected spinal injury after coming off his surfboard and being pounded into the sand at a Kingscliff beach.

A MAN has been flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane by helicopter after suffering a suspected spinal injury during a surf at Kingscliff this morning.
The 40-year-old man fell off his surfboard and hit the sand at 10.17am this morning, injuring his spine.
A New South Wales Ambulance spokesman said he was reported to have “no sensation from the neck down”.
The surfer was treated on the beach by local paramedics and was transferred to the Westpac Helicopter which landed at a nearby sports field.
Paramedics requested the Westpac Helicopter to collect the patient who was conscious and regaining some sensation after the accident.
The man was stabilised by crews before being transported by road to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.
