TWENTY swimmers have been rescued at Gold Coast beaches today.
Lifeguards rescued a 26-year-old Chinese woman at Tallebudgera Creek around 3.30pm after she got caught in a tidal current while swimming outside the flags.
Another 19 rescues were performed across the city, including Main Beach, Tugun, Burleigh Heads and Currumbin Alley, due to “unstable” conditions.
Gold Coast head lifeguard Warren Young said beaches had been “pretty busy” and the majority of swimmers had been doing the right thing.
He warns beachgoers to never swim outside patrol hours or on unpatrolled beaches.
