Dreamtime Beach, at Fingal Head, placed third in Brad Farmer’s annual 101 best Australian beaches list.
Burleigh Heads again took out fifth spot — the only Gold Coast beach in the top 10.
Farmer called Dreamtime Beach “one of the nation’s best sun-blessed stretches of undeveloped coast”.
He also heaped praise on Burleigh.
“With its coastal-cosmo village atmosphere, a World Surfing Reserve and glorious national park (Burleigh Heads) is a genuine aquatic theme park requiring no commercial entry tickets,” he said.
Nudey Beach on Fitzroy Island in Tropical North Queensland took out top spot.
