FRESHWATER: Bass schooling in Hinze Dam.

BROADWATER: Jewfish, tailor and trevally along the Seaway north wall. Try the whitewater for the occasional GT. Bream, flathead also in the Seaway. Tiger squid being caught in the weed beds on the western foreshore.

JUMPINPIN: Tailor still the best catch in the area, particularly around the east of Crusoe Island and down to the Tipplers Channel entrance. Also plenty around South Straddie. Flathead around Pandanas Island and Wally’s Gutter.

OFFSHORE: Best run of weather in the last month or so for offshore fishing. The 18 to 24 fathom reefs fishing well for mulloway and cobia, especially on live bait. The 50s a hotspot for pigfish, parrotfish, trag jew, morwong, cod and rosy jobfish. Dolphinfish and marlin around the deeper FADs, especially with trolling skirted lures. Try Point Lookout and Nine Mile Reef for amberjack and kingfish. Take care around the Seaway entrance with high swell.
