Offshore: Yellow fin tuna on the Nine Mile along with a few wahoo. Black marlin also in the area and further north towards the 36's off the Seaway. Been some nice catches of spanner crabs in 50 metres of water due east of the Seaway and off Currigee. Try for snapper on the 42's off the Pin and Spanish mackerel around the artificial reef.
Seaway: Tailor in the wash on the ends of the walls, expect a few flathead opposite the silos with bream around t6he canal entrances of the Nerang River. Australian bass in Clear Island Waters on the points and bridges. Quite a few trevally busting up in the canal systems during the first hour of the run out tide.
Jumpinin: Plenty of flathead along the edges of the channels from Tipplers Channel north to Canaipa Passage, try trolling lures that dive to 5-10 feet so they just bounce the bottom. Been a few tailor and dart around the bar entrance and adjoining gutters. The odd jew, jack and shark in the areas of Mark's Rocks and Rocky Point.
P aradise Point: A few bream around the canal entrances at Runaway Bay. Also try around Hope Island reach. Sand crabs on the move around Crab Island and the southern end of Tipplers channel. Mud crabs pushing out of the creeks and rivers, not in large numbers throughout the day, best off setting pots at night. Been a few bass in the back waters of the Coomera near the weir.
Tweed: Australian bass around Murwillumbah reach and up past the weir. The odd tailor at the bar entrance around Letitia Spit, also expect a few dart and the odd tarwhine. Worthwhile trying for a mixed bag of fish around the southern rocks such as Hastings. Been some mangrove jacks and trevally around the marina systems and under the M1 bridge in both river arms. Mud crabs moving out of the lakes and up past the Piggery in the main reaches of the river.
DIVING:
High tide is 1pm at Tweed bar. Easterly swell 1.5m; 15 knot northerly winds; visibility 5-8m; water temperature 22C. There are manta rays, leopard sharks, lion fish, nudibranchs and turtles.
