GOLD Coast and Tweed Heads fishing and diving report with Paul Burt and Kirra Dive.

Fishing:

Offshore: Excellent condition. A bit of weather coming through later in the week. A few spotty mackerel Burleigh and Palm Beach - try spinning small metal white lasers. Good catches of dolphin fish and small black marlin and striped tuna on the 36 east out to wider 42s and spot x north east.

Seaway: Mangrove jacks around the Cotton Trees Railway Bridges and through Broadbeach canal near the casino. A few tailor of Burleigh headland. Good catch of whiting around Seaway Hole.

Jumpinpin: Dart and whiting shallow gutter behind the Bedrooms. Also try for whiting further north shallow beach flats. Flathead on the northern banks Crusoe Island. Been mud crabs in the Nerang River near the entrance.

Paradise Point: Sand crabs in numbers by Bayview Harbour north to Pimpama - try in four metres of water along the edges of the channels. A few javelin fish opposite the entrance to Wasp Creek in the main channel near the Aldershots. And flathead throughout Browns Inlet in small shallow wrangler lures.

Tweed: Man jacks around Stotts Island, Tumbulgum Bridge with a few school jew, bass and trevally opposite YHA Murwillumbah. Heading further try for tailor off the southern headlands. With mud crabs moving out of the lakes.

Diving:

High tide 6.32am. Swell heading east one metre. Winds are heading southeast 12 knots.

Cook Island visibility 15 metres. Water temp 22 deg. Leopard sharks around the waters.
