OFFSHORE: Try for mackerel on the 18's off Southport, Mermaid and Palm Beach Reefs. Wahoo on the Nine Mile and Spanish around Fido's. Small black marlin on the 42's from the Pin south to Tweed on skirted lures.
SEAWAY: Garfish around Parrot Rock and the weed beds on the northern and western side of Wavebreak Island. Mud Crabs in the Nerang River canals from Monaco Street to Bond Uni lake. School jewfish on the Pipeline on the morning tide change and the end of the northern seaway wall.
JUMPINPIN: Garfish around the weed beds of Tipplers Channel near the Bedrooms and Pandanus Island. Plenty of Flathead in the southern and mid reaches of Canaipa Passage on soft plastic shads. A few tailor chopping around he entrances with school jew opposite the entrance to Swan Bay.
PARADISE POINT: Garfish on the southern tip of Crab Island around the weed beds using small pieces of peeled prawn under a float. Javelin fish or Grunter Bream in the main channel opposite the eastern entrance to Wasp Creek on the run in tide using fresh plump yabbies. Flathead around Jabiru Island and the shallow flats at the entrance to the Pimpama River on shads and white pillies.
TWEED HEADS: Jacks still about from the Rous Channel, Tumbulgum Bridge, the western side of Stott's Island and mid reaches of the Brusnwick. Few Australian Bass around the weir in the upper reaches on spinner baits and shallow running lures. Dart, and tar whine in the surf gutters around the jetty and further south around Black Rock. Try for mulloway on the northern side of the Brunswick River near the rocks on lures.
DIVING
High tide is 5.06pm at Tweed bar. Southerly swell around 1.5m; 15 knot easterly winds; 10m visibility; water temperature 21C. Heaps of turtles, lion fish, a few leopard sharks and bull rays.
