GOLD Coast and Tweed Heads fishing and diving report with Paul Burt.

FISHING

Offshore: Better conditions today, with light winds forecast for the morning. Be careful on the bars on the morning tide change. Trag jew, squire and tailor on the 24's off the Pin, northern end Diamond Reef and Burleigh Gravel patch. Remember to check the sizes of the trag before keeping. A few squire on floaters on the 36's

Seaway: Whiting south east corner of the council chambers. Bream around Seaway walls and bridge pylons in the mainstream parts of the Nerang River. A few trevally around the pylons as well, along with mangrove jacks.

Jumpinpin: Bream and flathead main channel opposite the entrance to Swan Bay. Also eastern ledge of Crusoe, flathead around the oyster leases in Tipplers channel. Sand crabs similar areas.

Paradise Point: Mangrove jacks entrance to Couran Cove, Sanctuary Cove walls and Paradise Point wall. Try trolling on the morning tide. Been a few bream around the Paradise Point bridges along with flathead at night. The odd bass past the weir in the Coomera.

Tweed Heads: A few bass around the weir at Murwillumbah, try surface poppers and purple spinnerbaits. Been a few jacks around the marinas, Chinderah wall. Also try for bream off the bar walls and Hastings Point. The odd tailor on the southern headlands and at Burleigh on dawn.

DIVING

High tide is 12.15pm at Tweed bar. 5-10 knot north north-easterly winds; 1-1.5m southerly swell; visibility 5-8m; water temperature 22C. Plenty of turtles, rays, dolphins and spanish dancers.
