GOLD Coast and Tweed Heads fishing and diving report with Paul Burt.

FISHING:

Offshore: Great day to be out there. Try for cobia and kingfish on the wrecks off Tweed. Snapper 36's off the Pin, striped marlin along the shelf.

Seaway: Flathead north wall Wavebreak Island. Sand crabs Labrador channel to Bayview. Whiting TSS to Cronin Island. Mangrove jacks around the casino.

Jumpinpin: Bream and whiting in the beach gutters behind the Bedrooms and Tipplers. A few tailor around the bar entrance on the run-in tide. Flathead northern banks of Crusoe Island and Cabbage Tree point.

Paradise Point: Whiting the Aldershots and entrance to the Pimpama River. Mangrove jacks Hope Island walls and western side M1 highway bridge. Mud crabs Saltwater Creek and Hope Island.

Tweed Heads: Bass in the upper reaches, try using poppers early in the morning and hard bodied lures later in the day. School jew around Murwillumbah Bridge on blades and soft plastics. Dart in the shallow butters from Kingscliff south to Black Rock along with whiting.

DIVING:

High tide is 5.08pm at Tweed bar. 1.5m southerly swell; 10 knot northerly winds shifting to the south by the weekend. 21C water temperature and 5m visibility and seeing heaps of turtles, wobbegongs, octopus and lion fish.
