GOLD Coast and Tweed Heads fishing and diving report with Paul Burt.

FISHING:

Offshore: Too rough to fish with strong wind warnings in place. Try for marlin on the 42's off Straddie and Burleigh once it settles.

Seaway: Jew caught on pike on the Pipeline and end of the north wall. Mangrove jacks around the canal entrances behind the Casino and Monaco Street on herrings and flick baits. Mud crabs from Bundall Bridge to Nerang and surrounding canals.

Jumpinpin: Mud crabs in the lower reaches of the Logan River and surrounding channels. Flathead in Whalley's Gutter and the Five Ways. A mixed bag of bream and flathead through Canaipa near Slipping Sands.

Paradise Point: Mangrove jacks in the harbour around Hope Island and surrounding canals - trolled lures and soft plastics scored most. Few estuary cod around Paradise Point walls and canal entrances. Muddies in numbers in the mid to lower reaches of the rivers.

Tweed Heads: Mangrove jacks around Tumbulgum Bridge, the western side of Stott's Island and along Chinderah Wall. Muddies in Mud Bay and Terranora Inlet in the back waters. Bream and whiting in the main southern channel from the bar and around Boyds Bay.

DIVING:

High tide 10.34am. Swell heading ESE around one metre. Winds north around 20 knots. Water temp 22 degrees. Visibility 10 metres. Seeing good size octopus. Also seeing dolphins and rays.
