GOLD Coast and Tweed Heads fishing and diving report with Paul Burt.

Fishing:

Offshore: Bit of wind about later in the day, best to get out early. Snapper on the 36s northeast, rosy jobfish on the deep southern grounds. A few Spanish mackerel around Fidos.

Seaway: Been a few tailor around the wall, try for sand crabs adjacent the pool. The odd flathead around the Silos and Perrys Bank.

Jumpinpin: Mangrove jacks adjacent Kalinga Bank on the slack tide. Been a few sand crabs in Tipplers Channel and surrounding banks. Flathead around the power lines.

Paradise Point: Mangrove jacks along Sanctuary Cove and Paradise Point walls. The odd school jew under The Sovereign Islands bridge.

Tweed Heads: Dart around Letitia Spit. Try for whiting in the shallow gutters along with flathead, mud crabs along Oxley Cove reach.

Diving:

High tide 3.14pm at Tweed bar. Visibility 8m; under 1m southerly swell; 5 knot southerly winds. 20C water. Improving visibility over the weekend to see plenty of turtles, lion fish, moray eels and dolphins.
