GOLD Coast and Tweed Heads fishing and diving report with Paul Burt.

FISHING:

Offshore: Too rough to fish at the moment. Strong winds are coming in … best to wait until Friday.

Seaway: Good catches of whiting in the Nerang River from Chevron Island to Isle of Capri. A few bull sharks in the main channels. Trevally around Bond Uni Lake and Monaco Street entrances. Tailor off the headland.

Jumpinpin: Dart and seam bream in the shallow gutters; also try for whiting. Been nice catches of bream at the southern tip of Short Island. As well as flathead. Try for sand crabs southern end Jacobs Well channel.

Paradise Point: Mangrove jacks Paradise Point wall as well as Runaway Bay canal. Mud crabs mid reaches Coomera and Pimpama Rivers. Whiting northern banks of Crab Island.

Tweed: Mangrove jacks from Stotts Island through to the Rouf channel. A few tailor off headland - best to try just before sunrise. A few md crabs moving out of the lakes. Flathead opposite Dry Dock Road.

DIVING:

High tide 4.28pm. Swell 1.1 metres heading South East. Wind NNE 11 knots increasing in the next couple of days. Water temp 20C. Poor visibility 6 metres. Plenty of octopus, turtles and dolphins.
