GOLD Coast and Tweed Heads fishing and diving report with Paul Burt.

FISHING:

Offshore: Choppy conditions due to the northerly winds. Expect some trag jew, squire and tusk fish on the 24's, along with the odd snapper around Kingscliff reef.

Seaway: Big eye trevally throughout the Nerang River. Try for mangrove jacks around the canal entrances. There has been plenty of whiting showing up from Cronin Island to Ski Beach. around the Pipeline and the Silos.

Jumpinpin: Flathead around the Fiveways,Tipplers Channel and the Measure Mile. Try for bream along Kalinga Bank, southeast corner of Short Island and around Mark's Rocks at night.

Paradise Point: Mangrove jacks around the canal entrances and bridge pylons throughout the river. Try for sand crabs from Currigee north to Tipplers channel along the edge of the main channel.

Tweed Heads: Bream and whiting opposite the tick gates, the Blue Hole and the Piggery stretch. Mud crabs out of the lakes, school jew around Murwillumbah bridge in the holes.

DIVING:

High tide is 5.15pm at Tweed bar. Visibility 10-15m; northerly winds 10-15 knots; water temperature 23C; north-easterly swell under 1m; Schooling trevally and bream, turtles and wobbegongs.
