GOLD Coast and Tweed Heads fishing and diving report with Paul Burt and Kirra Dive.

FISHING:

Offshore: Too rough to fish due to strong southerly winds. First day out will be Thursday or Friday. Try the local mackerel grounds after the recent blow.

Seaway: Big eye trevally on the Pipeline. Bream on the Silos along with flathead. Sand crabs opposite the pool. Whiting SeaWorld Hole.

Jumpinpin: Jewfish around the bar entrance. Try for flathead and whiting on Green Bank and southern end Jacobs Well channel. The odd dart behind the Bedrooms along with sea bream and flathead.

Paradise Point: Mud crabs in the creeks and rivers. Flathead around Browns Inlet and throughout the Pimpama River. Sand crabs among the shallow channels of Crab Island. Mangrove jacks Ephraim Island bridge.

Tweed River: Jacks around The Anchorage islands and the marinas. Flathead throughout Terranora Inlet near the reef on Kennedy Drive, a few bream here as well. Try for dart and sea bream around Letitia Spit.

DIVING

High tide is 2.55pm at Tweed bar. Water temperature 21C; southerly swell around 2m; 20 knot south-easterly winds. Plenty of octopus in the river. A few leopard sharks, rays and turtles and dolphins outside.
