Fishing and diving report for the Gold Coast and Tweed Heads - November 9, 2013

GOLD Coast and Tweed Heads fishing and diving report with Paul Burt.

FISHING

Offshore: Strong wind warnings over the next few days. Looks like off-shore grounds out of bounds.

Seaway: Hot weather means mangrove jacks, trevally and whiting. Worth trying the creek, river and canal entrances as well as council chambers, south to Ski beach and around Convention Centre. Try the north wall Seaway for bream, flathead and jacks. A few jew on the pipe. Sand crabs seen in western channel of Wavebreak.

Jumpinpin: A few jacks on the move around the powerlines and Jacobs Well. Also try for flathead around the edges of the channel. Sand crabs through Tipplers and northern flats beach gutters. Whiting northern tip of south Straddie and surrounding sand flats.

Paradise Point: Mangrove jacks from the highway bridge Koala Town as well as the banks adjacent Sanctuary Cove, Hope Island and Couran Cove entrance. Whiting shallow banks of the northern tip of Crab Island. Mud crabs mid reaches.

Tweed: Mangrove jacks on the move around Tumbulgum bridge, Stotts Island, Chinderah wall and the marinas. Bream on the main bar walls as well as trevally at night. Trevally also around The Ivory. Mud crabs moving out of the lakes.

DIVING

High tide 2pm at the Tweed bar. Wind 10-15 knots northerly, easing over weekend. Small swell .05 to 1m northerly. Visibility 15m; 23C in the water.
