Offshore: Tusk fish, trag jew, pearl perch and kings on the wider 36 and 42 fathom grounds. Pearl perch and amber jacks on the 50s off Southport and Tweed. A few blue marlin on the sea mounts. Black marlin still shy in close.
Seaway: Mangrove jacks, estuary cod and big eye trevally from Bundall Bridge upstream to Ross Street. Try along the rock walls and canal entrances on diving lures. A few whiting around SeaWorld deep hole and opposite TSS. Sand crabs around the pool north to Wavebreak along the edges of the shallow channels. A few flathead still along the bar walls on live herring
Jumpinpin: Flathead northern flats of Crusoe Island Sand banks around Coby Coby and Cabbage Tree. Whiting around the entrance to Whalley's gutter, junction of Redland channel near the main channels. Mud crabs around the mangrove-lined banks and the entrances to small mud drains. A few jew around the entrance still on the run out tide. Try for mangrove jacks at Rocky Point, Marks Rocks and opposite the Gazebo in the Logan.
Paradise Point: Whiting and flathead opposite the Aldershots near the old oyster leases. Also try northern flats of Crabs Island. Bream and flathead opposite Paradise Point, around the entrance to Shearwater Canal. Mud crabs in the mid reaches and throughout Runaway Bay canals near the bridges.
Tweed Heads: Mud crabs coming out of the lakes, throughout the canals and the entrance to Oxley Cove. Plenty of bream around the bar walls and the old wreck opposite the hospital. Whiting Kingscliff Beach and a few sea bream around Fingal Headland.
DIVING
High tide is 7.02am at Tweed bar. North north-westerly winds around 10-15 knots; easterly swell 1-1.5m; visibility 5-8m; water temperature 24C. Seeing plenty of turtles, manta rays, wobbegongs and dolphins.
