EX-TROPICAL cyclone Linda may be tracking away from the Coast, but the city will still feel the effects of the storm cell for the rest of the week.
Dangerous surf and abnormally high tides will make beaches particularly dangerous until Friday with all Gold Coast beaches closed today.
But the good news is, the hazardous conditions will dissipate in time for the weekend according to a Weatherzone spokesman.
“The south-easterly circulation has helped to whip up the ocean causing pretty hazardous conditions,” he said.
“We will be getting gusty winds of up to 50 kilometres an hour which will calm down in time for the weekend.”
He said locals could also expect scattered showers for the rest of the week as the storm cell continues to move away from the coastline with possible light showers over the weekend and south easterly winds.
Over the next three days, temperatures will remain consistent at around 27-29 degrees during the day and staying fairly warm at night with the mercury sitting around 21 degrees.
The Coast can expect an estimated 3 to 8 millimetres of rain over the next three days.
