Aussie porn star lands ‘cheeky’ ad campaign with Mingle Seasoning

A man who ditched his office job to become a porn star has landed an unexpected new gig that is “taking sex work out of the shadows”.

Dumped candidate's weird pornography claim

An adult content creator has teamed up with a surprise co-star for his latest video — but he insists it makes complete sense.

Ben, who is best known by his explicit porn star name that is too racy to publish, is an Australian OnlyFans creator who first started posting raunchy photos to X during hotel quarantine.

It was only when somebody he knew revealed how much they were making on the popular subscription site that he decided to join.

“I had maybe 40,000 followers at the time, and they thought I was crazy for giving it away for free,” he told news.com.au.

“So I started a page expecting it to be a little bit of beer money and maybe help with rent and it pretty quickly took on a life of it’s own.”

He rose to fame on the platform very quickly and even picked up trophies at the AVN and Pornhub awards this year.

Within a short time frame, and after sitting down with a good accountant, Ben realised he was making four times his annual salary.

So, he quit his 40-hours-a-week office job and decided to tell his family.

His mum, who used to work in a school canteen, was the person he was most worried about telling, so at first he didn’t give her too many details.

But, when she watched a documentary on sextortion, she became incredibly worried about what sort of porn work Ben was into – so he came clean.

Thankfully, his sisters had no issue with the job.

Now, several years on, the popular male porn star has announced a move that may come as a surprise to some, after teaming up with Mingle Seasoning to become the Aussie brand’s “Chief Satisfaction Officer”.

The tongue-in-cheek gig sees Ben star in a series of innuendo-packed social media adverts for Mingle’s new meat rubs — which come in eight flavours, including American BBQ Rub, Lemon and Herb and Peri Peri BBQ Rub.

“Marry me … chicken is for dinner tonight and, just a warning, this dish will lead to...” he says in one video, before sharing the “saucy” recipe.

He told news.com.au it was great to support an Australian brand, and particularly when it came to healthy food, something he’s passionate about because of his mum’s old job.

“She worked in a tuck shop when menus in across the country were changing from lasagne and two minute noodles to healthy foods,” he said.

“Mum was flying to these conferences and designing menus. She was even on TV for it as well a couple of times.”

He said a healthy focus had always been a staple of his life, and so that’s why he and Mingle Seasoning aligned so well.

At the same time, he said not many brands like Mingle work with people in the sex industry and, by doing this, the brand was “taking sex work out of the shadows”.

A spokesperson from the brand said it was all about shaking up the predictable.

“We are here to bring more flavour, more fun and more realness into people’s everyday lives. Not just through our products but in how we show up as a brand. Partnering with creators who embody that same authenticity and cheeky charm is a natural fit for us,” the spokesperson said.

“Ben is a creator who has built a loyal and engaged community by being unapologetically himself. His platform might not be where mainstream brands usually look, but for us, that is exactly the point.”

While the porn star represents a new wave of creators who “connect with audiences through humour, relatability and realness”, Mingle insisted the “collaboration is not about shock value”.

“It is about challenging norms, bringing fresh energy to the category and showing that flavour and fun can come from unexpected places,” Mingle Seasoning said.

“Before launching this campaign, we tested the concept with our community to ensure the tone landed in the right way.

“The feedback was clear. People loved the humour, they felt ‘in on the joke’ and it resonated with how they see Mingle.”

The brand hopes the ads will get people smiling, talking and “remind them that healthy flavour can be exciting, fun and cheeky”.

Ben recently made the leap to Los Angeles in a bid to grow his career — whether that’s in front of the camera or doing something else.

“The bigger goal of mine is to kind of build my brand to a point where I can get more brand deals,” he said.

“I don’t know what the future holds — I may want to shoot porn forever but there may come a day where I want to step away from doing that so I’d like to have the option of something to pivot to.”
