TSS Preparatory School head Jeff Symms said he believed the secret to TSS’s success was consistency.
“It’s about having excellent teachers who are given great access to quality professional development,” he said.
“Doing your homework on your resourcing, and then making sure that all of the staff are using the same language, being consistent with how they teach and what they teach.
“I just think it’s about consistency, making sure there’s strong foundational skills in place - but the fundamentals is good quality staff who spend time on researching and understanding the best way to teach.
“To be honest where we rank year on year is not the focus, because that can change but what’s really pleasing is we’ve sat in the top few for many years now. It’s that sustained outcome success which is really important to us.
“If you know your individual students the way the teachers know them here, you know what you need to do to help them succeed.”
