A MOTORCYCLIST is fighting for life in Gold Coast University Hospital after a motorcycle crash left him with critical head injuries on Saturday.
NSW Police said the man was airlifted in a critical condition to the Gold Coast University Hospital after coming off his motorbike just before midday.
“Emergency services were called to Limpinwood Road, following reports a motorcycle had crashed into a tree,” a police spokesman said.
“On arrival, officers found a 59-year-old rider with critical injuries. He was stabilised at the scene before being airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital with critical head injuries.”
The spokesman said the female passenger, aged 57, had ankle and shoulder injuries, and was taken to Tweed Heads Hospital for treatment.
Officers from the Tweed/Byron Police District are investigating the crash.
