A Brisbane woman sensationally ejected from Luke Combs’ Suncorp Stadium concert for allegedly “dancing too hard” has finally spoken out — and she’s landed a dream second chance to see the country superstar.

Joelene Shorten, whose energetic moves during support act Mitchell Tenpenny’s set went viral on TikTok, has shared her side of the story after being ejected from the concert on Saturday night — before Combs even stepped on stage.

“I was literally just having the time of my life,” Ms Shorten told KIIS 97.3 breakfast hosts Kip Wightman, Robin Bailey, and Corey Oates on Wednesday.

“I was dancing to one of my favourite artists, Mitchell Tenpenny, and then supposedly … the lady in the pink dress behind me had gotten me kicked out … she obviously didn’t like my dancing.

“I was just enjoying myself too much. I didn’t really care about what was around me.”

Shorten said she was stopped by security after returning from the bathroom.

“The security guard called me over and said ‘we’re really sorry, we’re going to have to get you to leave’. And I’m like, ‘what? why?’ and they said ‘there’s been a complaint about you dancing and stuff’,” she said.

“I didn’t even get to see Luke Combs.”

TikTok videos of the incident have exploded online, with one clip of Shorten’s dance moves garnering over 1.1 million views and another where she jokingly offers to sell the skirt she wore for $250 amassing 2.5 million views.

The controversy has sparked debate over concert etiquette, with some defending Shorten’s right to dance and others questioning whether her moves — and a few Bundy rums — may have gone too far.

Suncorp Stadium weighed in with a spokesperson stating “patrons are not evicted solely for dancing”.

“The patron was engaging in activity that was against the conditions of entry which are designed to allow all fans to enjoy events at the Stadium and so there was no choice but to evict her.”

But what started as a disastrous night has turned into an unforgettable opportunity for the Brisbane local.

After her viral TikTok took the internet by storm, Mitchell Tenpenny himself reshared the clip and his team stepped in, offering Shorten VIP tickets and an exclusive meet-and-greet for his Sydney show this weekend.

“They actually reposted my video on that on their on their Instagram page. So it’s on every platform of social media. It’s, it’s crazy hard. I never expected this,” Ms Shorten said.

“Hopefully I can get to Melbourne too!”

This time, she’s taking precautions to avoid a repeat of the Brisbane drama, requesting non-seated tickets for the Sydney concert.

“I did actually ask them what seats they were, and the lady couldn’t actually give she said they’re usually really good seats. And I was like, ‘well, if possible, GA (general admission) would be great,” she said.
