Victoria Beckham has revealed she was completely “p*ssed” when David Beckham failed to be there for the birth of their son, Cruz.
The Beckhams are the subject of a new documentary series on Netflix, and it’s bringing up some shocking new revelations about the couple’s marriage.
Throughout the series, one of the main takeaways appears to be that during the height of their fame, David’s career took priority over his family life and relationship. As a result, Posh was left feeling second best.
In 2005, the designer went into labour with the couple’s third son, Cruz.
However, David was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, the footballer decided a photo shoot with Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce was more important.
Victoria says in the Netflix doc: “I was like, ‘Seriously, I’m about to burst, I’m on bed rest. “Are you kidding me?! You’ve got a damn photo shoot with Jennifer Lopez who is gorgeous and not about to have a baby.
“So I had my C-section and I remember lying there, I don’t feel at my most gorgeous, let’s just say, and I remember someone showing me the front page of the newspaper which was a gorgeous picture of David between Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé and the headline was ‘What would Posh say?’”
The 90s icon adds: “Let me tell you what Posh would say. Posh was p****d off!”
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the docu series, the couple open up about the impact infidelity rumours had on their marriage.
At one stage, Posh goes as far as saying it was the “unhappiest time” of her entire life.
“It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us,” she recalled.
David, 48, also got emotional while recalling those challenging moments in their relationship.
“I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty,” the Inter Miami owner said in the documentary.
“Victoria is everything to me, to see her hurt was incredibly difficult, but we’re fighters and at that time we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family.”
He continued: “And what we had was worth fighting for.”
The power couple — who have now been married for 24 years — expanded their family again in 2011 with the arrival of daughter Harper.
Beckham premieres on October 4 on Netflix.
