THE owner of roadside assist giant Ultra Tune admits it was “embarrassing” revealing on TV he met one of his firm’s TV ad stars in a strip club.

But Ultra Tune owner Sean Buckley who recently appeared in the fake court of Network 10’s Trial by Kyle “charged” with sexism because of the controversial ad series said “overall” he thinks he came off looking ok.

Actor Vanessa Madrid, prosecuting the case, alleged the ads with Charlie Sheen, and Mike Tyson saving hapless female drivers in distress were “offending me by just focusing on your male market”.

Mr Buckley, who filmed Trial by Kyle knowing he was close to signing Baywatch bombshell Pamela Anderson for the next instalment, says he was always confident he would win the “trial” knowing he had a female star lined up as the hero for his next ad.

ULTRA TUNE’S GOLD COAST BOSS SEAN BUCKLEY ON ACCC PENALTY

But the Trial by Kyle case got ugly when Ms Madrid called “surprise” witness Jasmin Rainbow, who starred in the Tyson ad and was a former friend of Mr Buckley’s.

Ms Rainbow alleged on Trial by Kyle: “ I felt like Sean the CEO has a really negative outlook to women. The first thing he did when he hired me from a strip club – like he hires all his girls – was tell me my tits were too small.”

Kyle Sandilands: “This has taken a turn for the worst. You (Jasmin) had a friendship previous to this?”

Jasmin: “I don’t know Sean, did we?”

Sean: “I did meet her in a strip club.”

Kyle: “Right.”

Sean: We had a friendship. I thought she was very beautiful. I think she did a great job on the ads. I was very impressed. And unfortunately our friendship was over, and I wish her nothing but the best. I think she’s being very nasty towards me and saying a lot of things but I’ve got nothing bad to say about her.”

ULTRA TUNE CHARLIER SHEEN AD WITH MODELS RACKS UP 100 COMPLAINTS

Ultra Tune longtime ad star Parnia Porsche said in her five years in the ads she’d never had a bad experience, adding: “I actually really enjoy my job, I feel like It’s empowering to me.”

Mr Sandilands ruled in Ultra Tune’s favour, saying Advertising Standards has ruled the ads are not offensive: “I like the ads so they won’t be getting removed. The good news is you’ve agreed to put a female as the hero, a win for feminism.”

Mr Buckley told the Bulletin: “When we did that show I knew I was going to put a female lead in.

“I thought I came across ok. My only question was how bad does it look that I said I met her in a strip club. Some people say that’s fine, some say it’s not.

“But I do own a strip club.”

Ms Anderson films the next Ultra Tune ad on the Gold Coast later this month.
