Tommy Little savagely roasted by Carrie Bickmore and comedians at Melbourne Comedy Festival

Carrie Bickmore didn’t hold back while hosting a comedy special, taking hilarious jabs at her co-host Tommy Little.

Tommy Little was the butt of all jokes at the Melbourne Comedy Festival this week as he sat through the gala’s special event, The Roast of Tommy Little: When Friends Become Enemies.

The radio personality happily took the hot seat at the Comedy Theatre in the CBD while Australia’s most beloved comedians – some of which are his mates – took turns savagely roasting the star.

Unfiltered and unapologetic, the show was hosted by ‘roastmaster’ Carrie Bickmore, who is his co-host on the Carrie & Tommy show – but she made it known from the start that every topic was fair game.

The challenge was accepted, with first comedian off the rank, Dave Thornton.

“A lot of people have asked me has he had any work done? Well, I guess the fact that his teeth look like a freshly painted picket fence might tell you something,” Thornton told the crowd, who erupted in laughter.

“Honestly, his teeth have been bleached so white, they’ve been asked to talk at a Ku Klux Klan rally.”

“Tommy is rich, good looking and single. Do you know how sh*t your personality is for some like Tommy Little to be single? Even Hitler had a girlfriend,” joked Sri Lankan-Aussie comedian Dilruk Jayasinha.

Others such as Tom Ballard, Lizzy Hoo, Luke McGregor, fellow radio star Nick Cody and even former cricketer Adam Gilchrist also had some hilarious bangers for Little too.

But the most savage burns came from Bickmore herself.

“I will be your host for tonight,” she told the audience. “My role is to do the heavy lifting, which is what I’ve done for Tommy in most of his career, so I think I have this.”

She then went on to roast everything from his guest role on The Project to his dating life.

“I’ve never met somebody more popular than Tommy Little,” she said. “Everyone annoyingly seems to love him. Young women, old women like your grandma, sniffer dogs at airports... They just cannot get enough of Tommy Little.”

All is forgiven in the name of comedy.

Bickmore said it’s probably because Little is basically Australia’s answer to Leonardo DiCaprio in that he dates younger women and doesn’t want to settle down.

“Tommy here’s a tip, here’s something oy may not know,” she began. “Tinder on your phone, yeah? It’s an app, not a game. It’s not like Pokemon, you don’t need to catch them all.”

She got more jaw drops when she went after his recent ADHD diagnosis.

“I believe that diagnosis was made by Dr No F***ing Sh*t, yeah?” she said.

“But seriously, it is great for him because finally, Tommy, you’ve got a prescription for all those drugs you’re already taking.”
