In the first official trailer released today ahead of the May 13 premiere on BINGE, viewers are given a glimpse of the extravagant, multimillion-dollar holiday homes the wealthy opt to stay when five-star hotels just don’t make the cut.

High standards means high demands, with the service experts scurrying to fulfil guests’ every challenging demand.

From organising private fireworks show one minute to sourcing a sushi chef via helicopter the next, if it’s legal, the experienced team will make it happen.

“Every single detail matters. It’s about making guests feel not only accommodated, but cared for,” Heaven, who is BPD’s second-in-command concierge, tells news.com.au.

“I’ve never found [demands] to be something that’s challenging for me. I’m just a people pleaser – and that’s not in a negative way. I’m a people pleaser in that I like to help raise vibrations.

“Some people rest on doing and making everything perfect and curating things perfectly. I really rest on connecting with the person and caring about who they are. I’ve never had an issue with challenging people. I’ve never seen them that way.”

But while the guests are well cared for by the impeccable service provided by Heaven and the other service attendants – lead concierge Salvatore, fellow concierge Jasmin, butler JB, housekeeper Elsie, trainee Nicole, tradesman Jay, and chefs and siblings Matt and George – behind the scenes drama unfolds in the eight-part series.

“You can see all the pretty stuff, the perfect tableware, the perfectly cooked steak. But as we all know, that’s not where the juice is. It’s all behind the scenes,” chef George, who has worked around the world, tells us.

“And I’ll tell you what, with a microphone on you from 6am doing push-ups in your undies to the time you get home at 11pm when you throw your clothes off, there is plenty to catch.”

Indeed, in the trailer alone we see lead concierge Salvatore tell his staff “you’re all a f***ing joke, the lot of you” while butler JB tells a team member to “watch her back”.

“For me, I’m very professional in the workplace and I understand things don’t always go to plan,” George says. “Where the dominoes really start falling is if everyone gets involved.”

“Typically speaking, when everyone’s looking for the ‘save me button’, I’m the person they look for. My role in any situation is to be cool-headed, stay focused, and keep it the task at hand because maybe people with less experienced would get more involved. It was always my job to go, ‘No, this is the job. Stay focused.’ And I think you’re going to see that throughout the course of the series.”

Along with his brother Matt and tradesman Jay, George also serves up some serious eye candy in the series. But for this talented chef – he has worked in three-hat restaurants in Australia and Michelin-star restaurants in London – the prospective title of Australia’s hottest new TV chef is one he’s never contemplated.

“I haven’t thought about it, to be honest,” he says. “I’m more focused on the reach I can have, the value I can give to others. Whether it be the way my hospitality works or the way that I live, I’m more focused on the value I can give to others rather than being labelled something like that.”

“Look, I’m not upset by it. I’m stoked,” he adds. “I’m proud of who I am, but I’m more proud of what I can deliver to others. And if the label is ‘Australia’s hot chef’, so be it. I’ve been called worse, not better.”

Billion Dollar Playground premieres at 10am on Tuesday, May 13 on BINGE with new episodes dropping weekly. It will also be available on Foxtel from 1.30pm the same day.
