Kim Kardashian, whose fame was launched by a sex tape, blasted for telling women to work harder

Kim Kardashian has offered some controversial words of advice for women in business – prompting a social media pile on for her “toxic” attitude.

Kim Kardashian blasted for tone death work advise

Kim Kardashian has been slammed as “out of touch” for complaining that “nobody works these days”.

The 41-year-old made the claim in her family’s new interview with Variety.

Kim and her sisters Khloe, 37, and Kourtney, 42, as well as momager Kris Jenner, 66, recently spoke to Variety about their new Hulu show and a number of other topics, The Sun reports.

While on set of the cover photo shoot, billionaire Kim shared some controversial advice for women that want to succeed in business.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum said: “I have the best advice for women in business. Get your f**ing a** up and work.”

She continued: “It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”

After Kris and Kourtney agreed with Kim’s statement, she continued: “You have to surround yourself with people that want to work.

“Have a good work environment where everyone loves what they do because you have one life.

“No toxic work environments and show up and do the work.”

Khloe added: “If you’re the smartest person in that room, you’ve gotta go to another room.”

While Kim’s family agreed with her opinion, fans were quick to slam the SKIMS mogul for her “out of touch” take.

‘Says the woman who built her whole career off a sex tape’

Kim’s comments were pounced upon on social media, with Piers Morgan leading the charge.

“Says the woman who built her whole career off a sex tape,” Morgan tweeted.

“No, I have the best advice,” added comedian David Cross. “Be born into a rich family, get a shit ton of plastic surgery, film and then release an orchestrated sex tape, parlay that planned noteriety into a ‘reality’ show exploiting younger sisters and ... viola! Easy peasy.”

After the video was shared by Kardashian fan account Kardashianvideo, one critic wrote in the comments section: “I love the ladies, but this screams of privilege. I’m sorry it’s not so easy for many.

“This notion that no one wants to work is wrong, and is a tired argument billionaires use to put down the working class.”

Another added: “They have no idea how the ‘real’ world works. Many women aren’t able to get the babysitters and luxury things in their everyday life, that they have.”

A third chimed in: “This statement sounded like a toxic boss that can’t find people for a vacancy because he is offering sh*tty conditions.”

The backlash continued as another Instagram user commented: “She sounds so ignorant!! Not many people can choose a healthy work environment!! Like shut up if you don’t know what a real, every day, corporate America looks like.”

“I really hate when they say things like that. It seems like they don’t realise how privileged they are,” someone else wrote.

Meanwhile, many argued the average woman doesn’t have the same advantages as the Kardashians.

Another commented: “We all don’t have the choice or option to pick and choose our work environments. Secondly we don’t have glam teams, drivers and nannies and chefs and all these things to make our lives run easier.

“In fact we are all those things combined FOR OURSELVES meanwhile all you have to do is wake up. We have to do all those things and manage to show up on time.”

Twitter echoed the sentiment, with one person expertly quipping: “If Kim Kardashian worked one shift as a line cook she would be reduced to a pile of sand.”

Plans for the future

Kim and Kourtney also spoke about when they’ll quit reality TV for good during the interview.

When asked if she plans on saying goodbye to reality television in the future, Kim said she “sometimes” considers that to be “the dream”.

She added that then maybe she “can stop being Kim K. in 10 years.”

Meanwhile, Kourtney shared similar sentiments and said she has dreams of moving away from it all and “living in another city”.

While Kim thinks she might be done in 10 years, her sister revealed she doesn’t envision herself “filming on a show in five years”.
