Controversial MAFS bride Jacqui’s ‘lie’ exposed by groom Ryan

Married At First Sight bride Jacqui has been exposed in an alleged lie after her groom Ryan revealed the truth on Instagram.

A Married At First Sight bride allegedly lied to viewers about her home during the latest episode of the controversial series.

Ryan Donnelly took to social media on Tuesday to claim that the apartment his “wife” Jacqui Burfoot had taken him too wasn’t actually her home at all.

Instead, it was actually allegedly a property that producers had found on Airbnb.

“This wasn’t Jacqui’s home,” he said on Instagram.

“It was an Airbnb booked for the one night we filmed in Manly,” added the project manager.

“Her actual place was a rental apartment with two other housemates,” continued the groom, claiming the bride’s actual shared home was too small to fit members of the crew inside for filming.

Hiring an Airbnb goes directly against the point of home visits, which are meant to give couples a further glimpse into the lives of their new partners to see if they could really last together in the outside world.

A production insider told Daily Mail: “She had roommates living at her house and it was in a messy state, and she didn’t feel comfortable with it. Ryan and Jacqui were instructed not to make any mention that it was a fake house and just to pretend that it was actually Jacqui’s.”

Bafflingly, it was also a completely different home from the one shown during her wedding backstory.

It comes after Jacqui copped backlash from viewers after she had a breakdown on screen when Ryan refused to shave his beard for her.

The TV bride decided to inform Ryan his beard “wasn’t very manly”, before jokingly threatening to shave it off while he slept.

When Ryan refused to alter his appearance to suit her preferences, Jacqui broke down in hysterical tears, accusing her partner of failing to compromise.

“Ryan’s beard is annoying me because I’ve experienced an unwillingness to compromise on every single little thing that’s ever popped up in our relationship,” she sobbed in a piece-to-camera.

“And I’m really frustrated with about the way Ryan is so attached to his identity as a man.”

She then proceeded to tell Ryan, to his face, his “brain is small”.

“Jacqui can’t dictate how he looks. She can have preferences, but his body his choice, etc. I’d be saying the same thing if Ryan said she could never cut her hair or whatever,” one user wrote on X.

“Jacqui seems to think the word ‘compromise’ means Ryan just doing whatever she wants him to do,” another wrote, adding, “What if Ryan told you he wants you to cut your hair really short & dye it pink … you willing to do that Jacqui?”

“Why don’t you try going bald Jacqui,” a third quipped.

Jacqui has proven to be one of this year’s most controversial contestants on the show.

She sparked controversy when she broke her contract with Channel 9 in February to reveal she had been dating someone else since the show wrapped.
