Prince Harry did not make any changes to his memoir following the Queen’s death, according to Meghan Markle’s friend.

The title Spare was also chosen by the Duke of Sussex himself, confidante Omid Scobie has claimed.

Writing in his column for Yahoo, Mr Scobie said there were “no last-minute rewrites or edits” to the memoirs by Harry, 38.

He said this was because the manuscript for the book – due out January 10 – was finished five months before the Queen died.

It would mean the Duke completed his memoir – ghostwritten by novelist J. R. Moehringer – in April this year.

The Queen’s death will be acknowledged in a note at the start of the book, the author of controversial book Finding Freedom suggested.

In a scathing article, Mr Scobie also branded the royal line of succession “a bizarre and somewhat cruel existence” for Prince Harry.

Meghan’s friend also stressed there is still a “very real risk of serious blowback” from the Palace and Royal Family with the Duke’s memoirs.

It comes as Palace aides are said to fear the book could cause “irrevocable damage” to both “reputations and relations”.

The bombshell memoir promises to tell an “accurate and wholly truthful” story of the Prince’s life, and Harry added he was “excited for people to read a first-hand account of my life”.

The memoir is expected to unleash another volley of attacks and allegations on the Royal Family.
