THE first edition of Seven’s new 7 Gold Coast News has gone to air but the broadcast didn’t go off without a hitch.

Viewers were left wondering whether or not to adjust their sets when their screens froze towards the end of the 30-minute bulletin.

The incident happened just after boating and fishing expert Paul Burt threw to a live cross with surf and beaches reporter Luke Munro at Currumbin Alley.

Thankfully, the technical problem was quickly resolved — just in time for veteran presenter Rod Young to sign off.

Guests celebrated the bulletin’s debut at an event at the top of Q1 while the broadcast went to air.

7 Gold Coast News will air seven days a week at 5.30pm.

Young will present the bulletin on weekdays and Amanda Abate will read weekend bulletins.
