ONE of Australia’s most-loved indie bands is returning as its Gold Coast show proves so popular the venue has been forced to add hundreds more tickets.

The five-member band Ball Park Music is performing at Miami Marketta Sunday June 9 for the first time in three years as part of its Good Mood tour.

BALL PARK MUSIC: ‘HAPPY BAND’ TAKE NEW DIRECTION ON EVERY NIGHT THE SAME DREAM

Frontman Sam Cromack said the gig “is probably going to be one of the biggest shows in the region”.

“I think the capacity was 700 (people) and it sold out so promptly,” he said.

“Our management was able to upscale it somehow and add a couple of hundred more tickets to pop it up to about a thousand.”

Mr Cromack said the last time the band played on the Gold Coast, three years ago, he went close to performing blind – literally.

BALL PARK MUSIC HIT THE ROADS AND HEAD AROUND AUSTRALIA FOR GOOD MOOD TOUR

“I weirdly remember we left Brisbane in the morning and I left my glasses there,” he said.

“For me, it was a really big deal because my eyesight sucks. I had to either be blind or wear my (prescription) sunglasses.

“I wore them for the whole show. It probably looked really rock’n’roll but I was quite p*ssed off about it.”

Asked what the Gold Coast crowd can expect, Mr Cromack said the band would be “shaking it up”.

“(We are) doing 20 songs – all of the favourites and as well as the few deeper hits that we haven’t played in years,” he said.

BALL PARK MUSIC: FAST-TRACK TO SUCCESS STUNS BAND

“It’s been a pretty rowdy tour so far. We’ve been right in with the crowd. They’ve been grabbing our legs and arms while we’ve been up on stage.”

Ball Park Music released its fifth album, Good Mood, last year and it was voted as Triple J’s No. 1 2018 album and No. 6 on the ARIA chart.

The band performs at Miami Marketta tomorrow ((SUNDAY)) with Aussie acts Tia Gostelow and Butternut Sweetheart. Limited tickets remain and can be bought through Oztix.
