“The Schoolies are well catered for. We are going to continue to take care of our guests.

“We are just going to watch them all make fools of themselves. We are right on the side of the street so it’s a good spot to watch them carry on.”

Kanaghines says the staff “love it” and don’t have a problem rejecting them, even during the second week when most school leavers are over the age of 18.

“I don’t know why any schoolies would want to be in a bar and restaurant,” he said.

The venue posted on Instagram on Thursday: “Once again we are proud to announce that we are the official partner of #noschoolies and the number one NO SCHOOLIES venue.

“So if you want to keep your night fun, tame, schoolies free and you’re looking for sanctuary (away) from the mayhem, we are for you.”
