Rare sighting of 90-year-old Hollywood legend

Acting legend Shirley MacLaine appeared to be showing no signs of slowing down as she stepped out in Malibu on Wednesday.

Hollywood icon Shirley MacLaine stepped out for a rare appearance this week as she celebrated a major milestone.

The legendary actress was seen out and about in Malibu wearing a cap emblazoned with the word “Grind” on the front.

She was seen sucking on a lollipop after enjoying brunch at celeb hotspot Kirsty’s Café, before holding onto her pals hand as they crossed the road.

MacLaine, who was celebrating her 90th birthday, has enjoyed a career that’s spanned a whopping eight decades.

During that time she’s won herself an Oscar, an Emmy and six Golden Globe awards.

The star marked her 90th birthday on Wednesday by announcing a brand-new book featuring material from her archives.

The book, titled The Wall of Life, will be released on October 22, 2024.

“I have lived a wonderful life and I wanted to share it, all of the photos brought back such wonderful memories,” she said in an interview with People.

“About 45 years ago, I put ten or so framed photographs of friends and family and people I’ve worked with all grouped together on a living room wall.

“Everyone who came over loved to look at this montage, and so The Wall of Life was born. I’m pleased to share a selection of these photos — and some of the stories behind them — in this book,” added the icon.

Despite her age, MacLaine has zero intention of retiring from the screen.

She’s set to begin filming a new movie, People Not Places, in Atlantic City next month.

The star shared that she’s grateful “that I can keep working,” and revealed the secret behind her longevity.

“I have my friends and I am really healthy,” she revealed, sharing that her background with dance has helped in many ways over the years.

“I started my dance training at age three and stopped at about 67. It taught me discipline, loving music, working with people and dealing with pain,” added MacLaine, who got her start on Broadway before hitting it big in Hollywood.

Back in 2019 ahead of her 85th birthday, she confessed that she lives “the perfect life”.

“I have what I consider just a perfect life … I eat what I want, I sleep when I want,’ she said at the time, before going on to reveal that being surrounded by nature has helped her keep her inner-peace.

“I learned to amalgamate with nature. I have all the animals around me [in New Mexico]. It’s everything I need to be happy.”
