Queen ‘sad, not angry’ with Prince Harry, Meghan Markle tell-all

Royal sources have revealed what the Queen thought of Prince Harry’s Oprah tell-all while Prince Charles reportedly feels “let down” by his son’s shock racism claims.

Will 'that Markle woman' and Prince Harry 'not go away?'

The Queen is “sad not angry” by Prince Harry’s bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview but has privately pledged to stand by him, The Sun can reveal.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stunned the royals with their series of shock revelations during their tell-all interview.

The Queen ordered a private family investigation into the claims which included accusations an unnamed member of the family raised “concerns” about the skin colour of their children.

“While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

Prince William and Prince Charles spoke to Prince Harry in the days following the interview – but the conversations have been described as “unproductive”.

The Queen is privately said not to be furious with her grandson and Meghan who she described in her statement last week as “much loved family members”.

“She is not angry, she is just sad,” a royal source told The Sun.

“They have always worried about him (Harry) and the Queen feels very protective about him.

“They always tried to support him when Meghan came along.

“They all worried less about him when Meghan was on the scene as he seemed so happy.”

Prince Harry told Oprah Winfrey that he had been regularly in touch with the Queen since he and Meghan walked out on the royal family more than a year ago.

But the couple shocked the royals and did not reveal the contents of their shock interview with the US talk show titan.

Millions around the world watched as the couple accused an unnamed member of the royal family of raising “concerns” about the skin colour of their children.

Oprah later claimed the couple told them the family member in question was neither the Queen nor Prince Philip.

When Prince William was questioned about the comments by reporters, he was uncharacteristically blunt. “We are very much not a racist family,” he said.

CHARLES ‘FEELS LET DOWN’

It has also been claimed that Prince Charles feels “enormously let down” by his son’s allegations of racism within the royal family.

Prince Harry and Meghan refused to identify the senior royal who had made the comment – although it was later clarified it wasn’t either the Queen or Prince Philip.

Buckingham Palace has launched a private investigation but said “recollections may vary”.

But according to a report in People magazine, Prince Charles “feels enormously let down” by the claims made during the interview.

A source close to the royal household reportedly told the magazine that “the prince believes in diversity and his actions show that.

“He was the first person to highlight the Windrush generation and the contributions they made to British society.

“He has worked hard for the Muslim community.

“Of all the members of the royal family, he has taken this issue the most seriously.”

A Palace source was also reported to have said that Prince Charles had had a “complicated relationship” with Prince William and Prince Harry and that it was “not a straightforward” father and son relationship.

The fallout from the Oprah chat is still unfolding after Meghan’s friend Gayle King revealed Prince Harry has spoken to Prince Charles and Prince William for the first time since the interview aired – but talks were “unproductive”.

“Well, I did actually call them to see how they are feeling, it’s true, Harry has talked to his brother and his father, too,” she told CBS This Morning in the US, revealing that while Prince Harry described the talks as “unproductive” he was glad “a conversation” had been had.
