IT’S the time of year when the hours slip away, so one of the Gold Coast’s biggest shopping centres is extending its trading hours for time-pressed Santa’s Little Helpers.
From today shops at Pacific Fair will open later throughout the Christmas and New Year period, with a midnight trade slated for Thursday and a 10pm close time on December 23.
Not only that, the shopping centre is also offering free popcorn and ice cream for weary present hunters in need of an energy hit.

Pacific Fair senior marketing manager Kate Halpin said roving entertainers will add to the festive atmosphere as customers finalise their last-minute purchases.
“From today until Christmas Eve we will have everything from carollers, Christmas bands, candy cane stilt walkers and even hip-hop dancing elves,” she said.
“Extended Christmas trade means there are more hours in the day for everyone to get their Christmas Shopping done, and we’re celebrating with free ice-cream and popcorn for shoppers.”
