SHUT Gold Coast live music hub NightQuarter has made it into the final two contenders for Queensland’s regional venue of the year.
The popular entertainment spot had earlier been nominated by fans and made the cut to win the Queensland Music Awards ‘Regional Venue of the Year’ award.
Owner Michelle Cristoe was thrilled to make the final two.

“In light of us moving, it's a very big surprise. We are very grateful,” she said.
“I guess our patrons and music fans have voted for us but it’s all because of the musicians and great team we had at NightQuarter.”
NightQuarter is the sole remaining finalist alongside Sunshine Coast-based music venue Solbar, which won last year.
“This is our second year running. We were finalists last year,” Ms Cristoe said.
“Solbar beat us last year and we are up against them again.”
NightQuarter, which typically attracted about 7500 music fans to each gig, was forced to close after landlord Scentre Group doubled their rent. NightQuarter traded for the last time on February 1.
