Country singer Kelsea Ballerini has finally lost her patience while performing in Sydney with a common heckle she’s been getting for the last two years.

The 32-year-old singer released her critically acclaimed short album Rolling Up the Welcome Mat in 2023, and the fallout from it is still following the singer around.

That album came shortly after it was announced she was splitting from her husband, Aussie country star Morgan Evans, after almost five years of marriage.

The six-track short album documented her divorce from Evans, and one of her songs, Penthouse, alludes heavily to the breakdown of their relationship.

A trend that has taken off at live shows is people calling out Evan’s name as she sings the bridge of that song.

On the first night of her Sydney show, a fan interrupted her and screamed from the crowd, “Team Morgan!”

Instead of ignoring it … she stopped and responded.

“F**k off,” she replied and then rolled her eyes.

Ballerini added, “Team, everyone’s happy!” and then gave the finger.

Despite fans still holding onto the fizzled romance, both parties have moved on.

Ballerini has moved on by dating Outer Banks star Chase Stokes, though the pair has since called it quits, and he even went on Instagram to vaguely say he was blocked.

Meanwhile, her 40-year-old Aussie ex has also moved in and is dating American Idol alum Laci Kaye Booth.

The Aussie heckler got under the country singer’s skin because she took to Instagram later to declare that she won’t play certain songs if people can’t be respectful at shows.

“Respectfully, if anyone yells anything disrespectful to anyone during this song again, it will no longer be on the set list,” she wrote.

“Please let this be a song that matters to people and not a place to insert yourself into a world that doesn’t exist and was never yours to begin with.”

The night after, Ballerini was back on stage in Sydney, and she ended up discussing some of the regrets she has about the highly personal music she released after the divorce.

“I just wish I would have done things differently,” she said.

The singer added that releasing her popular EP Rolling Up The Welcome Mat changed her life and she remains “so grateful”, but she still has some regrets.

“I could have been a little more gentle,” she admitted.

“I sing it all with the vigour that I wrote it because I had some big old feelings, but in hindsight, that is one of the things I would revise.”

She added that in every break-up there are two sides to the story, and while she’s super proud of the music, it is hard when you’re sharing something so personal.

“I love it, and I’m proud of it … but at the same time … a lot of people were hurt because of that project,” she said.
