Coldplay’s ‘kiss cam’ finds mortified tech CEO and alleged HR-chief mistress

Another woman involved in the Coldplay ‘kiss cam’ scandal has broken her silence, labelling the whole thing ‘stupid’.

The Coldplay fan who filmed the now viral ‘kiss cam’ scandal has broken her silence.

Grace Springer, 28, filmed the moment cameras apparently exposed a cheating tech tycoon and his head-of-HR, as the band’s frontman, Chris Martin, joked that they must be “having an affair”.

The couple — identified as Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the firm’s chief human resources officer, Kristin Cabot — scrambled to hide their faces when an image of them getting cosy appeared on the big screen at Gillette Stadium near Boston, in the US, on Wednesday night.

Ms Springer told The Sun she did not intend to out anyone, but stands by sharing the footage on TikTok.

“I had no idea who the couple was. Just thought I caught an interesting reaction to the kiss cam and decided to post it,” she said.

“A part of me feels bad for turning these people’s lives upside down, but, play stupid games… win stupid prizes.

“I hope their partners can heal from this and get a second chance at the happiness they deserve with their future still in front of them.”

She added she went to bed as her video started to pick up traction.

“I woke up to seven million (views). Now over 30 million. Overwhelmed to say the least,” she said.

The company at the centre of the video now seen around the world, has been forced to debunk a false statement credited to the CEO.

A statement said to be from Mr Byron surfaced online on Thursday.

“I want to acknowledge the moment that’s been circulating online, and the disappointment it’s caused … what was supposed to be a night of music and joy turned into a deeply personal mistake playing out on a very public stage,” the statement read.

“I want to sincerely apologise to my wife, my family, and the team at Astronomer – you deserve better from me as a partner, as a father, and as a leader.”

The statement took aim at Coldplay for showing audience members on the screen.

“I also want to express how troubling it is that what should have been a private moment became public without my consent … I respect artists and entertainers, but I hope we can all think more deeply about the impact of turning someone else’s life into a spectacle.”

But hours after the statement appeared on X, it was outed as fake.

The company’s Director of Communications, Taylor Jones, confirmed to Men’s Journal the apology “is not a real statement”.

The false statement’s origins can be traced to an X account of a person claiming to be a CBS journalist named ... Peter Enis.

The page is labelled a parody account, with the bio indicating the name is a phallic pun.

After causing mass confusion, the account posted a follow-up statement to confirm the statement was indeed fabricated.

“Well guys, I’ve been caught — the report is fake,” he said once the statement was confirmed to be fake,” the account posted.

“Thank you to all who made today so funny, I’m glad you enjoyed the Fix You lyric at the end — I debated on including that one.”

In the video, now viral worldwide, Ms Cabot covered her face and turned her back while Mr Byron ducked out of view, prompting laughter from the crowd.

Mr Byron appears to mutter, “F***ing hell, it’s me”, before disappearing from view.

The pair work closely together at Astronomer, a billion-dollar AI and data company.

When Cabot was hired last year, Byron gushed about her 20 years of HR experience and “exceptional leadership” skills.

The internet was quick to poke fun at the alleged cheaters on Thursday.

“Cost of a concert: Hotel $200, tickets $600, food/drinks $150, divorce lawyer $50,000. Getting exposed by Coldplay having an affair with your co-worker: priceless,” wrote one Instagram user.

One X user claimed that Mr Byron’s wife had dropped her married name from her Facebook profile, and didn’t restrict people from making comments.

Her page was flooded with users reacting to the Coldplay concert clip before she deleted her profile.

A video uploaded on TikTok by user Instaagraace has attracted millions of views.

TikTok users theorised the video was proof that the pair were having an affair.

“There is no plausible reason why they would act that way unless they were having an affair. Period. Can’t convince me otherwise,” one user wrote.

Another user joked: “If I saw my husband cuddled up with his mistress at the COLDPLAY CONCERT I would actually be sent to the psych ward.
