Pop star Jessie J has shared a serious health update with her fans, revealing that she needs to “disappear for a bit” to seek treatment.

British pop star Jessie J has shared a serious health update with fans, revealing that she’s been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The Price Tag singer, 37, appeared in good spirits as she broke the news to fans in a video posted to her Instagram account today.

Starting the video message with an admission that she’d been “going back and forth” about whether to share the news, she said she had decided to go public because “I’m a sharer – I’ve always shared everything that I go through in my life.”

Jessie revealed that she was diagnosed with “early” breast cancer shortly before the release of her recent single No Secrets, which came out in April.

Jessie stressed that the cancer had been caught early and that she had been receiving medical treatment since finding out.

Adding that she was able to find some humour in the situation, she told fans: “I’m getting to keep my nipples … that’s good. It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job! I am gonna disappear for a bit after summertime ball to have my surgery. And I will come back with massive t**s and more music.”

Summertime Ball is a UK music festival Jessie J is still scheduled to perform at on June 16.

Her followers commended her for her candour and humour in the comments section of the post. Fellow pop star Rita Ora wrote: “Your [sic] literally my favourite person and I’m praying for you you’ve got this. my mother had it and I know the surgery and any treatment on this matter is mentally tough so I’m here for you.”

Another commenter praised the star for being an “open book and open heart.”

Jessie J has a two-year-old son with her partner, professional basketball player Chanan Colman.

The singer has been open about her health issues in the past, including a 2020 diagnosis of Ménière’s disease, an inner-ear condition that can lead to severe dizziness and hearing loss. The following year, she revealed to her fans that she’d suffered a miscarriage, and last year she publicly shared that she’d been diagnosed with both obsessive – compulsive disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
