BRITNEY Spears has fired back at Iggy Azalea after the Aussie singer blamed her for the failure of their song, Pretty Girls.
Released in May, their collaboration didn’t exactly take the world by storm, reaching the top 20 in the UK and the top 30 in the US and Australia.
The tit-for-tat started last night during a Twitter Q+A when one fan commented to Azalea, “Even if PG (Pretty Girls) flopped a little bit still getting a lot of views on YT (YouTube) and it’s the summer anthem of 2015, so whatever we love you”.
And that’s when the Aussie singer appeared to throw shade at Spears.
“It’s difficult to send a song up the charts without additional promo and TV performances etc. unfortunately im just featured ...” responded Azalea.
The comment angered Spears’ loyal fans, forcing the Aussie to defend herself, albeit in a rather unusual way.
“My comment is factual, it applies to any song. I don’t have to suck the womans asshole 24/7 to be her friend, do I? bye girls,” she wrote.
And then Britney Spears responded.
In a wonderfully shady tweet of her own, the pop princess appeared to poke fun at Azalea’s US tour which she cancelled allegedly due to poor ticket sales.
“Can’t wait to get back to Vegas. So thankful I have shows for the rest of the year to look forward to... #YouWantAPieceOfMe”.
BOOM! You just got a master class in sass Iggy Azalea.
