Global electronic stage slayer Flume and British folk rockers Mumford and Sons will join pop queen Lizzo to headline the 2023 Splendour in the Grass festival.

Flume is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the release of his self-titled debut record with his festival set.

The annual winter music celebration in Byron Bay will host a wildly eclectic line-up of international and homegrown artists from American indie rockers Yeah Yeah Yeahs and reggaeton king J Balvin to hip hop heroes Hilltop Hoods and festival regulars Ball Park Music.

Noah Cyrus has also been booked, the Splendour announce coinciding with the release of Everybody Needs Someone, her duet with Australia chart star Vance Joy.

Scottish star Lewis Capaldi, who had already booked an Australian arena tour for July, has also jumped on the Splendour bill.

Capaldi just last week shared how in a revealing documentary called How I’m Feeling Now that playing music has taken a hug toll on his mental health and he has developed a painful Tourette tic.

Among the other internationals who are sure to draw packed crowds to their Splendour sets are Sam Fender, Idles, Slowthai, Iann Dior and Tove Lo.

Australian artists scheduled on the 2023 bill include Ruel, Tkay Maidza, PNAU, Peach PRC and Grammy nominees Cub Sport.

One of the festival faves joining Splendour is King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. They return to Byron after pulling out of this year’s Bluesfest when controversial indie rockers Sticky Fingers were added to the bill. That band also later withdrew from Bluesfest.

Splendour’s team and fans will be praying for blue skies from July 21 to 23 after last year’s opening day was ruined by storms which flooded the site and created traffic chaos outside it.

Tickets go on sale from 9am on Friday from Moshtix.
