Earl Sweatshirt punches stage-crashing fan

AMERICAN rapper Earl Sweatshirt has caused controversy before his Splendour in the Grass appearance.

The 21-year-old hip hop sensation was on stage in Sydney last night when he landed a devastating left hook to a fan after he stormed the stage.

Sweatshirt was mid performance when the intruder ran past security, jumped on stage and approached the rapper from behind, appearing to try and grab the microphone.

Captured by mobile phone footage and posted on Instagram, the video shows the Odd Future rapper react by turning around and punching the man in the head.

Trash Talk’s Garrett Stevenson, who was also on stage, joined in and kicked the man before he was escorted out of the venue by security.

Unfazed by the incident, Sweatshirt continued with his song without missing a beat.

The incident was reportedly sparked after Sweatshirt called the man a f**ktard because he was kicking fellow concert-goers in the head while trying to crowd surf moments before the event.

Sweatshirt is set to play the Splendour in the Grass Mix Up stage tonight before wrapping up his short Australian tour with shows in Melbourne and Perth next week.
