BY NOW, Jared Leto’s onset antics during the making of Suicide Squad are well-documented — and it seems his behaviour was so extreme it led one of his co-stars to want to pepper-spray him.

Leto is playing The Joker in the upcoming big screen superhero flick, and decided to “go method” before and during filming.

As a little “look forward to working with you” gift, he sent his co-stars — including Margot Robbie, Ben Affleck, Will Smith, Jai Courtney and Viola Davis — anal beads, bullets and used condoms.

By the time Davis fronted up to set to meet him for the first time, she was on high alert, she told E! News.

“It was a little worrisome. It made you a little bit nervous and I’m pretty tough. You know I got into a few fights when I was growing up ... but it scared me a little bit,” she says of Leto’s behaviour.

Davis said that she only met Leto as himself after filming finished because he was always in character on set, so “Before that I was only introduced to The Joker ... and I almost had my pepper spray out. You know, ‘You remember that bullet you sent me?’”

Leto’s antics continued throughout filming, but his first stunt was particularly memorable.

“He did some bad things, Jared Leto did,” Davis said toVanity Fair.

“He gave some really horrific gifts. He had a henchman who would come into the rehearsal room, and the henchman came in with a dead pig and plopped it on the table, and then he walked out. And that was our introduction into Jared Leto.”

Speaking to E!, Davis did say that the film gave the actors’ license “to be completely insane, because all the characters are insane,” saying filming even took a toll on her health.

“It got so crazy that there were times during filming that I had heart palpitations — not only heart palpitations but at one point I said, ‘Did I suffer from hearing loss?’”

This whole movie is a massive WorkCover claim waiting to happen.
