FILMMAKER and actor Judd Apatow bared all for a scene in new comedy Popstar because he wanted to show off his manhood while he still has a decent body.

Comedian Andy Samberg insists the Knocked Up director, who is the producer of the outrageous new movie, had no problem with full frontal nudity.

“It’s actually his d*** in the window of the car,” the funnyman tells Billboard magazine.

“He wanted to show it because he was like, ‘I’ve had this normal but really well-proportioned d*** my whole life, and I’ve never shown it. And I’m afraid I’m getting older and going to lose the bod soon’.”

Judd Apatow directed Trainwreck which starred Amy Schumer and Bill Hader.

Apatow, who has 10 small acting credits to his name, has dreams of landing more in-front-of-camera parts, according to his actress wife Leslie Mann, who appears in most of the writer/director’s projects.

She recently told US chat show host Jimmy Kimmel her husband has become a different man now he has big Hollywood dreams.

“We’ve been together for almost 20 years now and he sat me down about six months ago and said, ‘I want to become a performer/actor’,” she said.

“So now he’s, like, very into how he looks. Before he didn’t seem to care much, which I liked. He has a nutritionist, he’s a gym rat and spends a lot of time with his trainer, and he’s very proud of how his body has changed... He seems to feel better, but I don’t see much of a difference.”

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping is set to be released in Aussie cinemas in August.
