A huge Hollywood star is set to return to the Star Wars franchise, four years after her last appearance in the series.

The actress took to the red carpet of the Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 as she confirmed her return to the franchise.

Daisy Ridley looked stunning in a tight-fitting red dress as she made a surprise appearance at the star-studded event today.

The actress revealed she would be reprising her hit role as Rey, after she first appeared in The Force Awakens in 2015.

Daisy, 33, went on to star in The Last Jedi in 2017 before her character’s story was wrapped up in The Rise of Skywalker in 2019.

However, the star admitted that she would be continuing the iconic character’s journey in a new film as she headed out on Friday.

Daisy revealed that the new film will follow on from the 2019 instalment of Star Wars, and will see her character return.

She told People: “I am thrilled to be continuing this journey.”

While producer Kathleen Kennedy introduced a new series of “Jedi order” Star Wars films at the event, Deadline reported.

Daisy looked stunning at the event at London’s ExCel centre, opting to slick her short hair back, and wearing a glam palette of make-up.

The actress first starred as Rey alongside Harrison Ford, John Boyega, Adam Driver and Carrie Fisher back in 2015.

The latest trilogy of films ended in 2019 with Rey heading to Luke Skywalkers abandoned home to bury Luke and Leia’s lightsabers.
