While the teaser doesn’t give too much away, we get a look at what Marion Cotillard and Michael Fassbender look like in the flick.

And it’s all good if you’ve never played the video games before, the storyline of the movie isn’t based too heavily on the games — but is set it the same universe fans are familiar with.

20th Century Fox, the film’s distributor, is aiming to top what 2010’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time made at the box office. That movie raked in $336.4 million, making it the highest grossing video game adaptation ever.

Assassin’s Creed hits cinemas in January.
