FIRST tabled last year, things are finally falling into place for Tetris: the Movie, after a film company pumped 80 million into the production.
According to Deadline, the movie is “billed as a sci-fi thriller” that producer Larry Kasanoff says is “not at all what you think,” but will instead be a “cool surprise.”
Tetris: The Movie will be a China and US co-production under Threshold Global Studios.
Fans reacted immediately on social media after the announcement.
I bet the #TETRIS movie has a lot of parts.

Tetris 2 will have a dark ending. Like when you accidentally flip the L shape at the last second and block a perfectly good space.

It’s believed filming will start in China and other locations next year.
“The goal is to make world movies for the world market,” says Kasanoff. This one, he says, doesn’t have to “sandwich into a deal, it naturally fits”.
Tetris was the game to play for Game Boy fanatics in the ’80s and has been downloaded more than 500 million times as a mobile game.
