Truth about Jennifer Lawrence’s wild No Hard Feelings full frontal fight scene

If you’ve seen the raunchy new Jennifer Lawrence film No Hard Feelings, chances are there’s one scene in particular that sticks in your memory.

If you’ve seen the raunchy new Jennifer Lawrence comedy No Hard Feelings, in cinemas now, chances are there’s one scene in particular that sticks in your memory.

It’s a scene that earned the film its MA15+ rating, with a nudity warning, and has been the subject of much debate among those who’ve watched it.

Lawrence plays Maddie, a 32-year-old Uber driver who answers an ad by a couple of desperate parents who want to enlist an experienced woman to deflower their 19-year-old, hopelessly introverted son Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), in the hopes it will help him grow up a bit before he has to leave for college.

Maddie’s attempts to seduce the unsuspecting Percy are played for laughs, as she repeatedly tries and fails to get him to fall for her charms.

About midway through the film, after the pair have been on a date at a bar, Maddie takes Percy to the beach and suggests they skinny dip together.

The camera cuts chastely away as the pair disrobe, cutting back as they’re shown from the neck up in the water.

All that changes, though, when a group of teens steal Maddie and Percy’s clothes and take off down the beach with them.

Viewers see the teens further down the beach, laughing over their prank – when suddenly, a furious and fully nude Maddie emerges from the darkness, before launching into perhaps this year’s most outrageous fight scene.

Lawrence goes full Street Fighter, delivering punches, slaps, high kicks and even a wrestling suplex body slam – all while completely naked. It’s perhaps the most visceral nude fight scene since Viggo Mortenson single-handedly killed a couple of gangsters in a bathhouse in 2007’s Eastern Promises.

Despite the graphic nature of the scene, some were unconvinced. Was this really Academy Award-winning Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, beating up a bunch of teens in the buff?

Turns out, that’s all J-Law – and she filmed the outrageous scene against the gentle advice of her own team.

“Everyone in my life and my team is doing the right thing and going, ‘Are you sure? Are you sure? Are you sure?’” Lawrence recently told Variety of her decision to do her own naked stunts.

“I didn’t even have a second thought. It was hilarious to me.”

Her commitment to comedy is yielding good results for the film, which has earned more than $3.5m at the Australian box office and globally is on track to be the highest-grossing adult-rated original comedy film since 2019.
